When discussing new technology there will always be a line between the dreamers and the doers. Blockchain is no different with endless of speculators and fanatics sometimes losing perspective of what is actual innovation and realistic. There are some names leading innovation in the blockchain sphere including Charles Hoskinson from Cardano, Changpeng Zhao from Binance, Brian Armstrong from Coinbase, Carlos Domingo from Securitize, Juan Engelbrecht from MOBU, etc.
To most in the radical blockchain movement “luck”has played a massive part of their success but to others like Juan Engelbrecht is no new comer when it comes to hard work and dedication.
Juan Engelbrecht has acquired severalfinance degrees which include bachelors in chartered accountancy, honours in cost and management accounting, qualified stockbroker, certifiedmanagement accounting (IMA) and even magna cum laude in Financial modelling and valuation analyst via CFI. He also completed several smaller courses in quantitative analysis and technical analysis for share trading. Not only does Juan have a strong financial background but able to program in R, VBA & Python.
Highlights of his career include being a trader at Goldings, Torr & de Decker in the times it was the largest proprietary stock broking firm in South Africa. Juan co-founded Evolve Fund managers alongside big names like Rurik Gobel& Brian Golding which was successfully sold to Corion Capital.
Their funds had a strong track record of being top quartile since inception. Juan went further on to start the largest crypto mining operation in the Southern Hemisphere alongside Paul Pelser CA(SA) and American investor Willem Marais. Although we all know the ICO era was short lived, Juan managed to pivot from initial concept and adapt to the times in his next venture. Very few people would be able realign company vision to ensure its inevitable success given the ICO industry is now obsolete. MOBU was undeniably the largest ICO campaign launched out of Africa. Most people in the cryptocurrency industry have disappeared in the difficult times unlike Juan who is persistent of achieving success. Juan furthermore acted as a CFO of several companies with strong business acumen. He has been known to have a strong investor network with an ability to raise capital for companies.
